The GIS Analyst is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and visualizing geospatial data to support data-driven decision-making. This role involves using GIS technologies, spatial analytics, and AI‑enhanced tools to help organizations optimize workflows, understand geographic patterns, and solve location‑based challenges. Working closely with cross-functional teams, the GIS Analyst translates complex data into clear, actionable insights.
Geospatial Data Management & Analysis
Collect, clean, and manage geospatial datasets from multiple sources
Perform spatial analysis, including proximity analysis, clustering, network analysis, and spatial modeling
Create high-quality maps, dashboards, and data visualizations
GIS Tools & Application Development
Use industry-standard tools (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS, GeoPandas, PostGIS) for mapping and analysis
Build and maintain geodatabases, layers, and map services
Automate workflows using Python or other scripting tools
AI-Enhanced Spatial Analytics
Apply AI-assisted tools to speed up map production, data classification, and pattern detection
Support predictive modeling using geospatial and demographic datasets
Collaboration & Reporting
Translate technical GIS findings into clear, actionable recommendations for stakeholders
Produce reports, maps, dashboards, and presentations for both technical and non-technical audiences
Work with operations, research, and administrative teams to support location-based decisions
Quality Assurance & Data Integrity
Ensure accuracy and consistency of maps, geodatabases, and spatial outputs
Follow data governance standards and maintain documentation for all GIS processes
Bachelor's degree in Geography, Geomatics, Environmental Science, Urban Planning, Data Science, or a related field
1+ years of experience in GIS analysis or spatial data management (or equivalent project-based experience)
Proficiency in ArcGIS, QGIS, or equivalent GIS platforms
Strong skills in Python for spatial analysis (e.g., GeoPandas, Shapely, Rasterio)
Experience building geodatabases and working with spatial SQL (PostGIS preferred)
Familiarity with remote sensing, raster processing, and satellite imagery
Ability to generate interactive dashboards (e.g., ArcGIS Online, Power BI)
Strong analytical and problem‑solving mindset
Excellent communication skills for translating data into business insights
High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
Ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced environment
Experience integrating AI with GIS workflows
Familiarity with cloud-based GIS platforms (ArcGIS Enterprise, Google Earth Engine)
Knowledge of transportation planning, logistics, environmental analysis, or risk assessment
